Hekla Bj\u00f6rk Gu\u00f0mundsd\u00f3ttir is born on the 18th of January 1969. She\u00b4s a designer\/artist who was brought up at Laugaland in Rang\u00e1rvallas\u00fdsla, Iceland, surrounded by the volcanic mountains of the south.<\/p>\n
Hekla designs and produces under the brand name Hekla\u00edslandi.<\/p>\n
The beginning of Hekla\u00edslandi was in 1996 when Hekla started to make giftcards that were replicas of her previous paintings.<\/p>\n
Hekla has always been involved in art and design and gets all her inspiration from Icelandic nature and traditions. The Golden Plover, sheep, horses and the wild flora of Iceland have also played a major role in Hekla\u00b4s creations<\/p>\n
Hekla\u00b4s paintings are strong in most of her design where “Hekla the designer” and “Hekla the artist” combine in a unique result.<\/p>\n
Hekla\u00b4s art is diverse and she uses various materials such as aluminium, linen, wood and paper.<\/p>\n
